The High Sierra Camp Trip in Yosemite from Tuolumne Meadows to Glen Aulin, May Lake, Sunrise, Merced Lake, Vogelsang and back to Tuolumne Meadows.
Jay, his calling in Yosemite. Helping out again...
Kylinn, John, Jay, Kristen and I: 49 miles, 5 nights.
Jay posing...
The 6th member of our group, lazy...
Tuolumne Falls on the way to Glen Aulin
White Cascade Waterfall at Glen Aulin
One of many selfies...
Luxurious camping next to the tent cabins with running, drinkable water and toilets. We have never had that before.
May Lake, no swimming in the lake and John's "Search and Rescue operation at 3 in the morning.
Jay getting his tent ready...
Cheese Burger Roasted Pork Dinner, just not for us.
Pinky in the Jacuzzi
May Lake early in the morning.
The brothers from another mother
The Beatles on Abbey Road in Yosemite
Half Done on the left.
Setting up camp with fire at Sunrise.
Beautiful scenery..
Sunrise panoramic shot. It's in focus once you click on it.
A short rain didn't keep Jay from selfying...
...or Kylinn...
Kylinn in her Burrito tent...small and very light!!
Heading out of Sunrise towards Merced Lake.
Kylinn didn't get enough exercise and performed a few headstands while waiting for us...
A great watering spot until we were surrounded by a group of 15 people.
Kristen and John...and Jay in the background.
Jay celebrating water..
Just before Merced Lake...
...just another mile, mile-and-a-half...
A not-so-smiley face...
Water cascade above Merced Lake
Getting ready with some trenches for the big storm...which luckily did not reach us. Hail and rain at Vogelsang, our next destination, but just a little where we were.
Just before our 3,000-foot ascend to Vogelsang.
Merced Lake
Meeting up for lunch...
Potty break...
Meadow below Vogelsang panoramic shot. It's in focus once you click on it.
Ky writing a song while waiting for us.
Fletcher Creek crossing...
Vogelsang, our highest point on the almost 50-mile hike.
"Great" camping location at Fletcher Lake...
The first night without a toilet and no fresh running water. Vogelsang camp was too far away and even water there wasn't safe to drink without filtering the water first...even though Jay survived it.
Another success story that started a long discussion about the meaning of 6-8 inches and desperately needed specifications/drawings for the "hole.
John getting ready for something...
What does it mean...? The sign was pointed in the southbound direction so we didn't see it until it was "too late"
A last calm morning at Fletcher Lake
Beer at Tuolumne Meadows before heading home...
